Do you reap the benefits of having a creative hobby?

You don’t have to be particularly creative or “good” at it – as long as you enjoy what you’re doing. When you let your artistic side shine it creates more joy and inspiration in your life.

I used to be into jewelry making and scrapbooking, but then got busy with other things and never did much with them the past few years.

But this past Christmas I received a gift of a coloring book and colored pencils and found coloring fun and relaxing. Then I saw some beautiful hand lettering examples on Pinterest and one day on a whim decided to try it out myself. It was fun creating something pretty!

So with that said, today I want to encourage you to find a creative hobby you enjoy.

Something that you can pick up for a few minutes a day or a couple time a week to unwind and relax. (Knitting? Crochet? Painting? Photography? Sewing? Drawing? So many possibilities!)

There are several benefits to picking up a fun, creative hobby.

The spark of imagination used to create can ignite some fantastic new ideas. It could inspire you with a new way to plan your days, add fun to your daily routine, or enjoy extra time with family.

A Creative Hobby Can Provide Stress Relief

Many creative hobbies require a lot of focus. And I don’t know about you, but for me focusing on just ONE thing and blocking out everything else is a great stress relief. For that time period, your brain isn’t going a hundred miles per hour trying to keep up with a busy life and schedule. Instead, you’re tuned into what you’re doing, and only that.
