We love French Bread Sausage Sandwiches for an easy and quick dinner, but thought we’d switch it up this time around. So here is the Cheeseburger version! I just swapped out cheddar cheese for mozzarella and hamburger for sausage. We thought it turned out well, and you can easily add in more cheeseburger ingredients to the mix to create a version that’s exactly how you like it.
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of french bread
- 1/2 lb cooked hamburger (I like to keep some on hand in the freezer)
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 eggs
- Any additional cheeseburger toppings you want (onions, tomatoes, etc.)
Directions:
Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Tear out the middle into small pieces and place in a medium-sized bowl, leaving a shell.
Combine bread pieces, hamburger, cheese, and eggs in the bowl.
Put bread mixture back into the shell, wrap in foil, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is starting to crisp. You can also turn the broiler on low for a minute to finish melting cheese and crisping bread.
Enjoy plain or slathered in ketchup, mustard, and/or other cheeseburger ingredients 😀
Thanks so much for hosting.

I love this idea! I’ve only done the French bread pizza, never thought of doing burgers this way!
So glad you like it! We had made the same thing with sausage and mozzarella cheese and thought this would be a fun way to mix it up a litle! Thanks for visiting =)
