Do you know what books you’re going to read this year? I always try to include a good mix on inspirational and business books – my favorite topics. One helps me grow into a better person and the other grow my business. If you’re looking for some good Christian inspirational books to add to your roster, these are what I recommend.

My Favorite Inspirational Books

The Bible

The Bible is of course at the top of my list. I’ve had the same one since I was 12. It’s worn and torn but I have so many highlights and notes I can’t image using a different one. I do, however, like to read the Message translation as well.

You’re Already Amazing and You’re Meant for a God-Sized Dream by  Holley Gerth

Holley’s books are so warm and encouraging. The entire books are just like sitting down for coffee with a dear mentor and friend. You’re Already Amazing talks about confidence in the person God already equips you to be and You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream discusses following the dreams that God has placed on your heart.

The Me I Want to Be by John Ortberg

It was awhile ago that I read this one, but I remember it really resonating with me. I’ll definitely read it again one day.

Elizabeth George

I adore her books. In fact, they were some of the first Christian inspirational books I ever read as a young lady. “A Young Woman’s Walk with God” and “A Young Woman’s Guide to Prayer” helped shape my faith at a young age. As an adult I’ve read many of her books as well, including “Loving God with All Your Mind,” “Following God with All Your Heart,” and “Life Management for Busy Women” just to name a few.

Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine

Crystal has some amazing advice for living a life that is balanced and organized. I like the message that it is ok to say no so that you can thrive in the important areas of your life.

Living Well Spending Less – 12 Secrets to the Good Life by Ruth Soukup

I adore this book. I wrote an entire post on why I think it should be at the top of your reading list for the year.

The Best Yes, Made to Crave, and Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst

Lysa speaks right to the heart in these books and addresses real-life struggles that most women go through at one time or another. “Unglued” covers emotional responses, “Made to Crave” discusses eating habits and health, and her latest book, “The Best Yes“, talks about making careful decisions on what commitments we say “Yes” to in our lives.

Anxious for Nothing by John MacArthur

If you’ve struggled with worrying, this book is for you. MacArthur has a Biblical approach to tackling anxiety and living a life full of trust in God.

Hopefully this gives you a few ideas of some books to look into to add to your reading list this year. I’d love to know what you think of them. Also, what books should I add to MY list of inspirational books to read this year? Let me know in the comments below!
