I had my 200 wedding invitations bought and printed for less $75. By today’s standards, that’s pretty darn inexpensive. Today I’m going to share the 2 ways I was able to do this.

1. Buy invitations at 1/2 price.

Most craft stores such as Michael’s and Hobby Lobby sell packages of wedding invitations, usually in sets of 50. I needed approximately 200 invitations, meaning I needed 4 boxes. Well, I found the style I liked at Hobby Lobby, with pretty silver hearts on top. Once every couple months or so, they put their wedding supplies on sale for 50% off, so that’s when I was sure to buy them, along with other wedding supplies. Michael’s doesn’t usually offer those kinds of sales on their wedding supplies, but they do frequently offer coupons for 50% off one regular item. So, to get the same deal at Michael’s, acquire a few ads, clip the coupons, and bring a few friends with you (one coupon per customer.)

2. Local printing

Now, those 200 invitations I bought? They were blank, of course. I considered printing them myself on our home printer, but ultimately decided against it after my test page came out crooked. So one day I talked to someone from a local printing company that my work uses. They came back with a quote for around $20 to print all of them. I doubt I would have been able to do it at home for that low of a price. Plus, it saved me the headache. I sent the printing company the template of the wording and font; and the invitations turned out beautifully.

With these two tips, you too can save lots of cash and still have gorgeous wedding invites!
