10 Minute Routines

The world is moving fast these days and I’m feeling called to take a bit of a step back this year in terms of goals and plans. To move just a little slower. And simplify more in our lives so we can focus on what matters. So here are 10 things I’m working on simplifying in 2026.

Things I'm Simplifying in 2026

Meals –

We are rotating pretty much the same things. I have a “theme” for most days of the week and a list for each theme that we rotate through. This has been working pretty well for awhile now and makes it super easy to meal plan.

Cleaning Routine –

I’m still finding the right fit for our family, but we’re working on having a more set cleaning schedule and teaching our kids some more responsibility in helping out.

Household –

We’re making the rules and schedule very clear – using printouts and hang them on the fridge where it’s easy to see.

Business –

I’ve created a ton of resources for my community, Organized Home Systems, so this year I want to focus on building up the community part and making the systems easy to implement. Want to join us? Check it out here.

Snacks –

Just like I have a rotating plan for dinners, I want to create a list of snacks to rotate through. For example, I would pick 2-4 each week to have available.

Goals –

I’m really taking a step back on the goals this year and focusing on continuing what I started in 2025. This feels a lot different for me but I’m looking forward to seeing what unfolds.

Relationships –

As in I want to focus on more real-life interaction. Inviting people over. Making plans. And actually showing up.

Consumption –

Less consuming, more creating. I’d also like to make more of an effort to thrift the things we need, not Amazon order them.

Stuff –

I got some good decluttering done in 2025 but it needs to continue to a few more areas of our home in 2026.

Daily List-

I’m still making my daily list using my notebook planning method, but I’m *trying* to not add quite as much to each day as I used to. I need more breathing room in my schedule to really focus on homeschooling, our family, and our home.

There are 10 areas I’m working on simplifying this year. While some will definitely take the effort, I think it will be more than worth it to add more intention and breathing room in this year.
