Finding a way to store belongings in an organized, but pretty way is a challenge. The first step, of course, is to declutter and make sure you aren’t taking up valuable space storing things you no longer want or need.
But then you’re left with the stuff you’re keeping. What are you going to do with it all?
Here are some of the ways I like to keep my things stored.
Baskets
I have a few gorgeous baskets in my home that I just love. I received them as wedding gifts and in one of them I store our wedding albums and another is for storage in my office. Here are some pretty baskets similar to the ones I own
Clear plastic containers
I love using clear plastic containers to store craft supplies. I keeps things from spilling and I can easily peek in and see what’s in there. Even with labels, sometimes things get put in containers in that they don’t belong in. I have *no idea* how that happens, but occasionally, it does.
Small drawer organizers
These are such lifesavers! I hate digging through a crowded drawer trying to find what I’m looking for. These organizers allow me to compartmentalize my drawers so I can find whatever I need.
Tote bags
I have a tote bag from 31 that I absolutely adore. It has so many pockets to keep things separated and organized. I also think dedicated tote bags are a great way to organize and store library books and music lessons books and sheets.
Binders
Though not normally thought of as a storage space, binders are a great place to keep recipe pages, notes, and magazine pages. I have several binders for things such as home maintenance, doTerra information, recipes, and blogging.
There are so many ways to find creative storage solutions. The real key is to find what works for YOU and YOUR space.
I hope you found some inspiration here!

I love all things pretty storage! And my brand new obsession is pretty baskets!
You and I would be so great as roomies LOL I love using all of the above in my home! If you have a chance to, I’d love for you to link up this post and/or another couple over at our #HomeMattersParty – the door is open! Happy Friday!!!
Such great inspiration for “Spring Cleaning” on this cold and snowy day….go away, winter!!!
I like baskets, but I try to buy them lined! That way, nothing gets into the little cracks. If they don’t come lined, I just fold an old piece of cloth along the bottom.
Oh, yeah. We’re all about baskets in this house! Pinning to share!
Love the baskets! I’m going to try to organize my bathroom closet this weekend and just bought a ton of baskets for the task.
All great ideas. I am a big fan of “a place for everything, and everything in it’s place” so I am a bit of an organizing fanatic!
I love the look of baskets, but could only afford one as an early birthday gift to myself :-D. But I have a bunch of Teal colored old locker type plastic bins I scored at the Dollar Tree. I use them in an old bookcase I was given by a friend who is dying from cancer. I am also using a couple of fabric storage baskets I got at Bimart to hold my puzzle books and magazines. I also use binders for everything, Home Management, Finances, Crochet Patterns, Home Decorating,, Medical, Blogging, Exercise, Recipes, Bible Study, Magazine Articles I think are very useful for retaining, Web Designing, Our Vow Renewal Ceremony and one for Christmas planning. Seriously considering the one for all the important papers to have in case of my death with all passwords for all my accounts and one for books and warranties. Oh, and I use them for storing my clear stamps for card making. I have a ton of the three or four drawer plastic systems for my crafts. I am currently using the 15 cubby closetmaid system for storing my yarn. I use a garment bag for storing my Christmas wrapping paper in the closet. Now here’s the unusual storage item! You remember the old red wire racks on wheels that movie theaters used to display their candy on? I inherited one from my mother-in-law that we are currently using for our Pantry. Since we have no storage space in the bathroom I am using a five shelf cabinet with closed doors for storing the personal hygiene items, medicines, towels, lotions, and pads. Under the bathroom sink I am using two big white wire bins for storing the paper towels and toilet paper. I use a small carrying bin for the cleaning supplies. I am very tempted to make a couple of hidden shadow box frames with a couple of shelves with hinged artworks to put on the wall to hide the products that we use every day to get them off our tiny sink cabinet. For some reason the builder of the handicap apartment we live in seemed to reason that handicapped people do not need storage or an overhead light in the living room. We also have precious little natural light in our apartment just one patio door in the living room with the front door of course and one window in the bedroom. I still believe that this is what is contributing to our major depression but we cannot afford to move, but I sure wish we could afford an actual house with three bedrooms so I can get my own Craft Room…..
I know if I make it pretty I’ll be more likely to keep it nice. Thanks for posting. Hello from Thrifty Thursday.
