I love finding new uses for leftovers in order to create a whole new meal! My favorite way to do this is to have a classic pasta dish with tomato sauce and meatballs one night, and then use the leftovers to make baked pasta. Another great way is to heat up the leftover pasta and add some cheese! Yum!
Here is the basic directions for baked pasta. Just remember to cook the original pasta and sauce separately and not mix them together.
-Mix pasta with some egg and put in a greased pan.
-Pour sauce on top of the pasta
-Sprinkle cheese on top
-Bake until heated through and cheese is melted
Really simple way to makeover the leftovers! 😉
Here are some other recipes I’ve rounded up to use your leftover pasta:
What’s your favorite leftover makeover?
I love your idea for Spaghetti Lasagna. Spaghetti has and always will be one of my top favorite dishes. This is actually the first I’ve heard of making any other meal with left over spaghetti. I’m looking forward to trying some of these recipes =)
Thanks for stopping by, hope you find a variation you like!
I definitely am not creative like this at all. I can’t stand eating leftovers. So, there are very few items that I make enough to have as leftovers the next day.
This definitely is remarkable idea.
Re-doing leftovers can definitely save some time and money! I hope you find some ideas that will work for you! 🙂
What great ideas!!! I can’t wait to try these.
Thanks! Let me know if you find one you like! 🙂
Great ideas! I always try to make leftovers into something different. For example I have some pork chops in the fridge from dinner last night and they will become the basis for chinese noodles for dinner tomorrow night! Saves time and money by using up all your food!
Exactly! There are so many ways to turn leftovers into a whole new meal.. just takes a bit of creative planning 😉
When we have leftover pasta the kids love to eat it with just some butter and parm cheese or butter and whatever cheese we have in the fridge. Easy, filling and they all absolutely adore cooked noodles.
Great ideas! We’ve also used leftover noodles to make a spaghetti salad with Italian dressing and tomatoes!
you know I have never eaten a baked pasta or spaghetti pie I really really should. I bet my kids would just love it!! and I could easily grate squash into it and they wouldn’t notice :D!
Great idea.. you could easily sneak veggies into it!
I love this idea! I am always wondering what to do with all that pasta left! I know alot of people make lasgna after spaghetti. My favorite all time leftover meal is vegetable soup. At the end of the week to just throw all your leftover veges is so great. Makes me feel good knowing its not going to waste. Using up all your food is the best way to save money. Sometimes Ill reheat certian things just to add to another meal its usually not alot but itll get eaten! 🙂
So glad you like the idea! I’ve never made vegetable soup with leftover veggies, I’ll have to try that out!
I’ve never thought about remaking the leftovers. I usually just eat them as the same dish – which means boring – which means they don’t always get eaten. Thanks for the simple tip!
You’re very welcome! Thanks for stopping by !
We like to make potato soup and incorporate that into chicken pot pie the next day! It’s super yummy & easy to make!
Oh that sounds really good! I need to give that a try 🙂
Wow…I never would have thought of the Spaghetti Frittata! I’ve got to try that!
I know exactly what you mean about all the bowls on the table and all the variations. With 5 kids…I’ve got one who likes noodles with the jar sauce, 4 that eat meat sauce, 1 that prefers melted cheese on plain noodles, 1 that gets suspicious of any vegetables that might have tiptoed through the sauce and 2-4 who will eat leftover pasta if there is enough cheese baked into it. You might find it interesting…if I puree a sweet potato and sneak in about half into the sauce (freeze the rest for another day)…NO ONE complains and everyone who eats the red sauce, gobbles it up! Sneaky Mom!
What a great idea to sneak in some veggies! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! I like to find ways to remake leftovers so they don’t taste like leftovers. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂
I wish, I could like leftovers, but I do save the food and then when its time to clean the refrigerator, their they are.
Yep, that’s what usually happens to us unless we find a new way to fix it so we don’t eat the same meal 2 or 3 days in a row!
Should not have read this on an empty stomach. Pasta is my favourite food. Sounds delicious. I’ve added eggs to mac and cheese before but have never tried that with a tomato sauce. I’m pretty sure I had to engage in some leftover makeover at least a couple of times but can’t think of any example. The only thing that comes to mind is forgetting to buy noodles for a Thai noodles lunch for 3 Year Old (duh) and replacing noodles with fusili, which he loved. I enticed him by calling them curly pasta 🙂
Hope you have a chance to try the baked pasta sometime – it’s really good! Thanks for stopping by!
What a fantastic idea!! I had no idea you could make a whole new dish with leftover spaghetti!! I usually send leftovers to work with my husband. He would love if I created a new dish for him with the leftovers! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, glad you found some new ideas!! Thanks for stopping by!
I am so not creative when it comes to food. I love the other ideas I can remake with my pasta leftovers. Its perfect because I get bored very easily of eating the same thing for dinner two nights in a row or dinner then lunch the next day.
OOOHHH good question. My husband doesn’t like LO….But I like to buy those chickens already made – eat on it, the the next day boil the meat off of it and make chicken salad.
