Do you have several extra tote bags just hanging in the closet? I do. But recently I have been looking through a great book, AtoZ Storage Solutions by Donna Smallin, and found some great ways to organize your home with tote bags:
- Have a bag hanging by the door for library books that need returned.
- Use one for each activity so that all the supplies are ready to go: Soccer practice, ice skating lessons, piano lessons, etc.
- Keep one ready to go for outdoor events. Include bug spray, sunscreen, hand wipes, etc.
- Hang one ore more in the closet to hold seasonal items or things you don’t use very often: gloves, scarves, belts, hats, etc.
- Use one to store all those extra power cords and computer cables.
How do you like to organize with tote bags? I’d love to hear your ideas!
That is exactly what I do! I have one with swimming stuff, one with sewing stuff. One that I keep my laptop and stuff in. And on and on. Want to make putting groceries away easy? I always bag my own stuff so I back according to where the stuff goes. When I bring the groceries in, the bags go where their contents go, not more sorting! 🙂
Great ideas, thanks so much for sharing!
What is it about tote bags that is so appealing? I love to look at them and have to stop myself from buying them! Maybe now I have an excuse!
Visiting through Titus 2 Tuesday.
I know, there are so many cute ones out that are very tempting to buy! Thanks for visiting! 🙂
When my children were young we had a bag for everything. We had the library book bag, the swim bag, the ballet bag, the piano bag and we never left without the snack bag. Now, we still use bags. There is one for the SAT course study bag and the bag for all the ongoing college application files. I currently have a bag with my bath remodel ideas, catalogs/brochures and paint/fabric swatches.

Great ideas, Ana! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Both my husband and I are addicted to tote bags and use them to organize our different projects. We have hooks by all the doors to hold them!
I use tote bags for each project I’m working on and for each holiday in my hall closet.
Thanks for visiting sharing your ideas, Teresa! What a great thought to put holiday decorations in them and store in the hall closet, I’ll have to start doing that!
Great tips! 😉
We home school and each of the kids has their school materials in a bag. The older two share a lot of the same subjects, so their text books are in another bag. It is great to have most of their materials in one place. We also have a bag to occupy the little ones at doctor appointments.
