I LOVE using baskets for storage and organizing around the house. I have one or more in almost every room of the house for various uses.
Here is a tour of some of the baskets I use to organize in my house:
This cute little basket sits on my desk for easy access to some basic offices supplies: Pens, paper clips, post-it notes, scissors, and note cards.
These sit on the bottom shelf of a bookshelf in my office to hold craft supplies: ribbon, tulle, fabric, etc.
This basket is where I stick my coupon inserts from the Sunday paper.
Here is another craft supplies basket for yarn and half-finished crochet projects.
This adorable basket is for my Bible study and devotional materials.
This basket sits in our living room and is the home for magazines.
And finally, this super cute basket is where I keep our scrapbooks and photo albums.
How do you like to organize with baskets? I’d love to hear in the comments!
Thanks for sharing the pictures – it really made me think about how I’m using baskets right now. (not very efficiently, but rather as a “catch all”)
The one place I use baskets effectively is in my linen closet. I’ve organized the small hand towels (seasonal) in one basket, the odd pillow cases in another, and in a third I’ve put all the pretty small runners for the odd side-tables.
Great post!
That’s a great idea for using baskets in the linen closet! Thanks for stopping by!
I LOVE baskets and boxes! My favourite is one we keep in our main room which hides my piles of ‘to-be-sorted’ paperwork. It saves so much clutter 🙂
Thanks for sharing.
Me too! 🙂 That’s a great idea to store paperwork to be sorted! Thanks for stopping by!
I use baskets to organize the house too – I love the way they look. They not only tidy things up but they also give a comfy-cozy “homey” feel.
My tip: I have three 20-something kids so mealtime can mean there are ten or more additional people for dinner at the last minute. To make it easier for me I put all the silverware in separate baskets (forks, knives, spoons, etc.) so I can just pull out the utensils needed for the meal, set it on the table and let them take what they want instead of setting the table.
After 25+ years of marriage my husband has just started using the old basket trick this month! He coiled the cord for the TV cable in a basket (our cat loves to chew on cables for some crazy reason) and yesterday I discovered a basket of onions in the fridge after he cleaned out the veggie drawer (milk mishap).
Those are wonderful ideas, Teresa! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love organizing with baskets as well! Thanks for your tips… 🙂
