Beginning the new year, I knew I needed to make a few changes to how I was organizing my blog files. I work from two different computers: the desktop in my office or on our laptop. It was getting ridiculous having some files on one computer and some on another. So I decided to buy a new flash drive dedicated to all of my blogging files. I didn’t just include the documents where I start writing my posts, either. I have a folder for all of my ebook downloads on blogging, audio files teaching about blogging, all my blog graphics (including post graphics and pictures, blog buttons, and headers), and folders for both published posts and unpublished posts.
So far it is working out really well. I’m enjoying having easy access to all my blog files without anything else getting in the way.

What a great idea! I have a portable external drive that is just collecting dust. I too work between several computers and while at home they are all networked but when I leave with one of the laptops it never fails I have a file that is on one of the others. This is something that I will implement now. Thanks for sharing.
