Today I’m sharing my favorite way to prepare fresh green beans. This year we have had a huge crop of green beans in our garden. The first batch filled up two whole bowls!
I gave some away and cooked the rest of them. They seem to taste even better when you grow them yourself!
Ingredients:
- Fresh green beans
- 1-2 potatoes, diced
- 1-2 cans chicken broth
- water
- seasoning (I use salt, pepper, parsley & Italian seasoning)
Directions:
Start by snapping the green beans into approximately 1 inch pieces. Pour chicken broth into pot and fill the rest of the way to 3/4 full with water. Add the green beans, potatoes, and seasoning.
Boil until green beans and potatoes are tender (For me it usually takes 30 – 45 minutes.)
Enjoy!
Yummy! This reminds me of how my grandma used to make fresh green beans from her garden…countless hours were spend snapping them together. She would always add bacon in, too! 🙂
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Kelsey!
We have had a lot of green beans from our garden this year, too. I’ll have to give this preparation a try!
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Thanks for visiting!
Reminds me of my grandma too. Stood by her stove and watched her as a kid. Good memories. Thanks

My favorite way to prepare green beans is by roasting them with olive oil and salt – SOOO good 🙂
Mmm that sounds yummy, I’ve never had green beans prepared that way. I’ll have to try it out! Thanks for stopping by!
