  1. Nail the lid under the cabinet and screw the jar on to store dry goods in the kitchen or hardware in the garage.
  2. Use small jars, such as baby food jars, to store things like buttons, beads, nails, screws, etc.
  3. Have a jar set aside to store all the random things you find lying around the house until you find their home.
  4. You can also use small jars to store seasonings and herbs. Decorate them in a fun way to add some flair to your kitchen!
  5. A jar also makes an adorable holder for kitchen supplies such as cocoa, sugar, etc. Just make sure the jar is completely sterilized before you re-purpose it in this manner!
  6. Fill the jar with candy for a cute gift!

I found a lot of these great ideas in: “The One-Minute Organizer A to Z Storage Solutions” by Donna Smallin.

Now, the empty jars will be a lot more fun if they’re decorated, right? Here are a few ways to add some fun to your old jars:

  • Etched glass paint – This gives your jars a “frosted” look. You can have a lot of fun with using stencils with this paint, too.
  • Chalkboards paint – then you can add cute messages to your jars!
  • Scrapbook paper – Get out your glue gun and add some paper to your jars to give them a whole new look!

How do you re-use your glass jars? I’d love to hear your ideas!
