Our house has gotten a bit messy with all the business of the holiday season. I’m ready to buckle down and get everything organized and get those last few boxes unpacked. Thankfully, along with all the Christmas clearance, there are other sales going on to get excited about – organizing!
Baskets, Shelving, Bins, Oh my!
Not to mention folders, label-makers, planners, and more…
Where to start? Well, the answer for my house is my disaster zone office. Trust me, it was bad.
I’m still working on finishing it up, but this post on office organization was a total lifesaver. Thank you, Pinterest.
I was able to find a good deal at Wal-Mart on some shelving and a new plastic bin. Plus, I received some very cute baskets for Christmas!
These four shelves I set up in the basement allowed me to clear up some office and basement clutter from boxes sitting around.
This cute red plastic box was on sale, and was the perfect place to store the new Christmas decorations I found at half-price.
How do you get organized at the beginning of a new year?
Great ideas. I love stacking! Today I organized my basement closet and found 2 Christmas trees. Someone gave us a new tree last year and we loaded it on top of the old one. I finally drug it out and organized the closet. We’ll see what it looks like next Christmas.
I’m always amazed at how much stuff accumulates around the holidays. I think there are gremlins that hide things from me then around the holidays drag it all back just to mess with me. I like you have a disaster of an office and just get so overwhelmed that I end up just going to another room to clean. However I’m going to do what I did to my kids when they were little, set a timer for 15 minutes and clean/declutter until it goes off.
I usually find it essential to organize my organization. I like to go out and buy new pages for my Day Planner and organize calendars, and make sure that everyone gets on the same page with time management. Time management is one of the most difficult things for me, but I feel like I am successful at it, if I prepare to be.
