This past year has forced me to focus more on some self-care. I think we’re best off when we take the time to rest and recharge so we can better serve others.

Because, if you’re like me, you tend to run around taking care of things without taking any time for yourself. In fact, one of my goals for next year is to do something I enjoy EVERY DAY. Even if it’s just for 5 minutes.

Taking care of yourself is so important! These simple ideas take just a few minutes but can help you feel much more relaxed and refreshed.

Here is a list of ideas to get you started:

  • Take a Walk (I’ve always love taking walks around the neighborhood or the park)
  • Read your favorite book/magazine/blog
  • Fix your favorite coffee or tea (Folger’s Vanilla Biscotti is my favorite)
  • Pamper yourself {Paint your nails, facial, etc.}
  • Make a plan for the week (This might not be relaxing for everyone, but I LOVE sitting down for a planning session!)
  • Create a workout plan
  • Plan a healthy meal for each day
  • Wear your favorite outfit that makes you feel wonderful
  • Take a bubble bath
  • Write in your journal – or start one (You can find really pretty ones like this one online!)
  • Watch your favorite movie (It’s hard for me to pick a favorite – but Pride and Prejudice is definitely one of them!)
  • Do an art/craft project that you enjoy
  • Color (This is one of my favorite coloring books)
  • Try hand lettering (You don’t have to be good at it – it’s still fun!)
  • Knit, crochet, quilt, etc.
  • Take a nap
  • Go to bed early
  • Sleep in
  • Light your favorite candle (I don’t do many candles but I do enjoy the Mrs. Meyer’s soy candles)
  • Have a good laugh
  • Bake your favorite dessert
  • Spend time in God’s word
  • Learn something new
  • Watch a sunrise or sunset

I hope this list gives you some inspiration to take care of YOU!
