The act of practicing gratitude daily has changed my life in a big way. It began when I started keeping a Blessings Journal during what turned out to be one of the most difficult years of our lives.

You can read my whole story on choosing gratitude here.

When I started seeing what a difference it made, I decided to research Bible passages on gratitude. Here are a few that I found. I hope they encourage you to choose gratitude!

Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:20)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. (Psalm 118:24)

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)

In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.” (Isaiah 12:4-5)

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2)
